I Have Not Missed My Calling

I don't want to be a rich man, 
I don't crave fortune or fame. 
I just want to live a good life, 
And pray You know my name.

I've stumbled like You said I would, 
But I get up and start again. 
Just when I'd thought I'd sunk the most, 
You show me where I began.

For a child doesn't have a past, 
No regrets to drag them down. 
They have no fear from which to judge, 
It's the love you've shown them NOW!

An innocent child who knows no fear, 
Who's trust is never ending. 
'Till life begins to take it's toll, 
and makes us feel like just surrendering.

Yet, who do we petition too, 
When life's too much to bare? 
And do I really have the right, 
To ask "Why" You want me here?

You gave my life back for a reason, 
I'll witness you until I the end. 
May I ask just one more question Lord? 
How, why, what, where, and when?

I have not missed my calling Lord, 
I just got lost along the way. 
Fell down to my knees bawling, 
"Lord, lead me not astray!"

I don't want to be a failure Lord, 
Yet, don't know what I should do. 
No doubt I have not missed my calling, 
So Lord I'm calling on you!
